Creating a Research Group in ReCAP
Research Groups should normally be created in ReCAP by the Research Group Lead.
Users with any of the following job titles can create a Research Group themselves:
- Fellow
- Lecturer
- Chair
- Professor
- Reader
- Director
To create a Research Group, log in to ReCAP. If you are eligible, you will see the following message:
Your user account has been identified as eligible to self-enrol to create a Group Space. This is the first step in requesting access to RCS services. Please see the Create Research Group page.
Click the Create Research Group link and complete the form. Once you have entered all the required information, click Create.
Please note that when a Research Group is created in this way, the Research Group Lead's username is automatically used as the group's short name. This short name is also used in file system paths. If you require a custom short name, please contact us and we will create the Research Group on your behalf.
If you lead a Research Group but your job title is not listed above, please contact us and we will set up the Research Group for you.
